Markilux 879 TracFix

Markilux are a German manufacturer and have been making blinds and awnings for years and in our opinion are under used as an overall solution in the UK for shading Roof Lanterns, Skylights and Rooflights.

Now there are size limitations on this blind but they can generally cover most residential glass roofs, the TracFix means the fabric is held captive within the side channels like the other electric roof blinds we sell, the main difference on this blind is that you only have a head box, this box rounded in profile houses the roller, fabric and the motor, you then have two side channels for the fabric to slide down. You have no bottom box with the blind so it can look a little neater, what you do have is a front sliding profile, this flat profile sits in front of the head box when the blind is retracted, when you want to close the blind the front profile will slide down the side tracks pulling the fabric with it and when it reaches the end forms a four sided blind. Inside this front profile is a gas piston, this piston is pushing outwards towards the edges helping create tension on the fabric width wise, the motor then creates tension length wise.

You can only have an anti glare fabric on this blind from the Markilux range of Sunvas or Sunsilk, so if you need a blind to be black out then this blind will not be the blind for you. With the Markilux 879 Tracfix there are no visible wires and this is a huge plus point but like I say there are limitations on sizes and we have been known in very large installations to have a blind at either end meeting in the middle a great solution and also a very cost effective way of shading large roof lanterns.

We only specify Somfy motors to be installed to the Markilux 879 TracFix so you have the option of remote control handset or wire free wall switch operation, again like all our electric roof blinds they require a 240v power supply for Radiant to connect the blind too.
